Description

Our Client, an IT Services and Consultant company, is looking for an Agile Product Owner for their Remote location.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for the Provider Transformation track, translating program-level transformation goals into clear, actionable epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Act as the primary voice of provider network and business stakeholders within the Agile team, ensuring delivery stays aligned to the Provider Transformation program's roadmap and intended business outcomes.
  • Partner with the Transformation Program Manager, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, and Engineering leads to sequence releases, manage cross-workstream dependencies, and plan sprints within the broader transformation timeline.
  • Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review, and retrospectives — for the Provider Transformation workstream.
  • Define and communicate the product vision and phased roadmap for transforming provider enrollment, credentialing, contracting, and network management capabilities from current-state to future-state.
  • Assess current-state provider workflows and systems, identify pain points and inefficiencies, and translate findings into transformation requirements and business cases.
  • Ensure solutions comply with health plan regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, state Medicaid/Medicare, NCQA credentialing standards) and payer-provider data standards (e.g., 834/835/837 EDI transactions where applicable).
  • Collaborate with Provider Network Operations, Claims, Credentialing, Configuration, and other transformation workstream owners to align priorities and manage interdependencies across the program.
  • Define and track transformation success metrics and KPIs (e.g., provider data accuracy, credentialing turnaround time, directory accuracy, process cycle-time reduction) to demonstrate progress against the transformation business case.
  • Support change management and stakeholder communication as legacy provider processes and systems are retired or migrated to future-state solutions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, resolve competing priorities across workstreams, and communicate trade-offs and risks clearly to program and executive leadership.
  • Support UAT planning and execution, and validate that delivered features meet the defined business value and acceptance criteria before cutover or go-live.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience supporting a large-scale business or technology transformation initiative, including current-state/future-state analysis, phased roadmap planning, and managing dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health plan provider operations — provider enrollment, credentialing, contracting, network management, and/or provider data management (Health Net or comparable managed care/health plan experience strongly preferred).
  • Solid understanding of healthcare industry standards and regulations affecting provider networks (CMS, state Medicaid/Medicare requirements, NCQA, HIPAA).
  • Proven experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing a product backlog in tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across business, clinical, and technical teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting roadmaps and priorities to leadership.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience working with or for a health plan provider network
  • Familiarity with provider data management systems, credentialing platforms , and claims adjudication systems.
  • Experience with EDI healthcare transaction standards (834, 835, 837) and provider directory accuracy regulations (e.g., CMS provider directory rules).
  • Experience working in a regulated, compliance-driven environment.
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst on a formal transformation, modernization, or system migration program (e.g., legacy platform replacement, process re-engineering, or M&A integration).
