Duties

• Providing high-quality, person-centred mental health nursing care
• Undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments and developing appropriate care plans
• Monitoring patients’ mental health and wellbeing and recognising changes in presentation
• Supporting patients experiencing acute or ongoing mental health difficulties
• Administering medications and treatments safely and effectively
• Promoting patient safety and maintaining a therapeutic environment
• Supporting patients with their daily care needs and recovery goals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing and Active Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Minimum 6 months post-registration nursing experience
• Previous experience within a mental health, psychiatric, acute mental health or similar setting is essential
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Experience recognising and responding to changes in patients’ mental health and behaviour
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy and sometimes challenging clinical environment
• Strong understanding of patient safety, confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Eligible to work in Ireland
• Registered with Clarity Locums (or willing to register)
