Opportunity to gain experience in a GP practice setting
Duties
Providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care within a GP practice
Assessing, monitoring and reviewing patients' health needs
Carrying out clinical observations and recording patient information accurately
Administering medications, injections and vaccinations safely and effectively
Assisting with chronic disease management and health screening
Providing wound care and dressing changes
Carrying out phlebotomy and other routine nursing procedures
Supporting patients with health promotion, education and preventative care
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
Working collaboratively with GPs and other healthcare professionals
Supporting patients and their families with care and communication
Maintaining a safe, clean and professional clinical environment
Adhering to NMBI standards, policies and procedures at all times
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in General Nursing and Active Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
Previous experience in a GP practice or primary care setting desirable
Experience in phlebotomy, vaccinations, wound care and chronic disease management desirable
Excellent clinical and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong understanding of patient safety, confidentiality and professional boundaries
Compassionate and person-centred approach to nursing care
Eligible to work in Ireland
Registered with Clarity Locums (or willing to register)
