This role will support the Agency Bill team with reconciliations, aged balance cleanup, discrepancy research, payment processing support, and customer service.

Job Summary
We are seeking a precise and driven Agency Bill Accounting Specialist to handle the day-to-day financial operations of our agency bill workflow. In this role, you will be responsible for invoicing client premiums, reconciling premium trust accounts, and ensuring accurate payables to our insurance carriers. You will work closely with account managers, producers, and carrier representatives to ensure all transactions are processed efficiently and in compliance with insurance regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Invoicing & Processing: Generate and post client invoices, endorsements, and cancellations in the agency management system based on policy documents.
• Carrier Payables & Disbursal: Reconcile monthly carrier statements against agency records, calculate net premiums due, and prepare timely payments via check or EFT.
• Premium Trust Reconciliations: Monitor and reconcile premium trust bank accounts to ensure fiduciary compliance and accurate funds tracking.
• Accounts Receivable Tracking: Monitor aged accounts receivable reports, follow up on outstanding client balances, and coordinate premium finance agreements.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Research and resolve discrepancies regarding premium amounts, taxes, fees, and commissions by collaborating with internal brokers and carrier underwriters.

Key Qualifications: 

• 3-5+ years of insurance or premium accounting experience.
• Experience with agency bill accounting, carrier statements, premium transactions, credits, and unapplied cash.
• Strong reconciliation, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and ownership of assigned work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across Accounting, Operations, and Production teams.
• Experience with ALIS or other insurance accounting platforms preferred.
