AFTERNOON SHIFT MANAGER(Automotive Warehousing & Distribution (U.S.)

Position Summary
The Afternoon Shift Manager oversees all warehouse and distribution operations during the afternoon/evening shift. This role is responsible for achieving production targets, maintaining a safe work environment, and leading a team to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced automotive logistics setting.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
Manage all shift activities: receiving, warehousing, picking, packing, and shipping
Ensure production targets, KPIs, and customer delivery requirements are met
Allocate labor and resources to maximize efficiency and throughput
Coordinate with transportation and inventory teams for smooth material flow
Safety & Compliance
Enforce all health and safety policies and procedures
Lead safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations
Ensure proper use of PPE and safe equipment operation
Promote a strong safety-first culture
Team Leadership
Supervise, coach, and develop team leads and hourly staff
Manage attendance, performance, and disciplinary actions
Support hiring, onboarding, and training
Foster accountability and a positive team environment
Quality & Customer Service
Ensure product quality and adherence to customer specifications
Address and resolve operational and quality issues
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
Communication & Reporting
Provide daily shift reports (production, safety, staffing)
Ensure effective handoff and communication with other shifts
Escalate issues and risks as needed
Qualifications
3–5+ years of leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, or automotive supply chain
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control
Automotive/JIT experience preferred
Knowledge of workplace health & safety standards
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
