    Hip-Hop Dance Instructor & Aftercare Assistant

    We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and engaging Hip-Hop Dance Instructor for our afterschool program at Beit Rabban Day School!

    The instructor will lead a fun, age-appropriate hip-hop dance class from 3:30–4:30 PM, followed by an hour supporting the program as an Aftercare Assistant from 4:30–5:30 PM.

    This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about dance, enjoys working with children, and can create a positive environment where students of all experience levels feel comfortable participating, learning, and expressing themselves.

    Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Plan and lead an engaging, age-appropriate hip-hop dance class.
    • Teach foundational hip-hop movements, rhythm, coordination, choreography, and musicality.
    • Create a welcoming class environment that encourages confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
    • Adapt instruction to accommodate different ages, abilities, and levels of dance experience.
    • Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
    • Transition into the Aftercare Assistant role following dance class.
    • Support students during games, projects, enrichment activities, and daily aftercare routines.
    • Assist with student supervision, transitions, and dismissal.
    • Collaborate with fellow instructors and administrative staff regarding student progress and behavioral expectations.
    • Use company-wide digital platforms to complete administrative tasks, including attendance and incident reports.
    • Assist with the setup, cleanup, and organization of program materials and spaces.

    This is you:

    • Experience teaching hip-hop dance or another related dance style.
    • Experience working with preschool or elementary-aged students.
    • Energetic, patient, dependable, and comfortable leading groups of children.
    • Able to develop structured, engaging lesson plans and age-appropriate choreography.
    • Strong classroom and behavior-management skills.
    • Encouraging and able to make dance accessible to beginners.
    • Flexible and able to adjust activities based on students’ needs and interests.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, and positive afterschool environment.

    The Schedule:

    • Day: Tuesdays
    • Hip-Hop Dance Class: 3:30–4:30 PM
    • Aftercare Assistant: 4:30–5:30 PM
    • Candidates must be able to commit for the full 26-27' school year.

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Experience teaching hip-hop dance or another related dance style.
    • Experience working with children in a school, afterschool program, dance studio, camp, childcare, coaching, or similar setting.
    • Ability to plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate dance lessons for students with varying levels of experience.
    • Strong communication, classroom-management, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to effectively supervise, motivate, and engage elementary-aged students.
    • Reliable and able to consistently commit to the full Tuesday program schedule.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience teaching dance to preschool or elementary-aged students.
    • Experience developing choreography or preparing students for showcases and performances.
    • Experience working in an afterschool, school-based, or youth-development program.
    • Strong classroom and behavior-management skills.
    • Formal dance training or a background in hip-hop, street dance, or related styles.
