Job Title: After School Group Leader Salary Schedule: Classified CHCCS Salary Page Reports To: After School Site Director & Community Schools Program Supervisor and Director Salary Grade: 102 Work Location: Assigned School FLSA Status: Nonexempt Work Schedule: 10 Month

Position Summary The After School Group Leader plans, teaches, and supervises children in all program activities and on field trips.

Essential Duties

Program Responsibilities • Works with a specific group of children as assigned by the Site Director, teaches, and supervises children in all program activities and on field trips. • Plans and organizes a variety of enriching and age-appropriate program activities in accordance with North Carolina Child Care Licensing Requirements. • Provides an environment that insures the safety and well-being of all students. • Participates in weekly site staff meetings. • Follows PBIS Positive Intervention Behavior Support guidelines for managing student behavior.

Staff Development • Completes six hours of required staff orientation within the first two weeks of employment. • Completes additional three hours of required staff orientation completed within the first six weeks of employment. • Completes OSAHA Diabetes, Allergy, and Managing Behavior I & II training modules within the first month of employment. • Completes Basic School-Age Care (BSAC) training within sixty days of employment. • Completes certification in CPR, SFA, or Playground Safety as required. • Completes the required number of staff development hours, CEU credits by the designated date.

General • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements • Demonstrated experience with teaching and supervising children grades K-5 in a recreational or educational setting. • At least 19 years of age. • High school diploma required. • Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. • Documentation of TB test results signed by a medical practitioner licensed in NC by the first day of employment. • Documentation of a Medical Report within thirty days of the first day of employment. • Documentation of CPR, SFA, and Playground Safety certification. • Completed required number of CEU credits by the designated date.

Physical Requirements • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
