Fierce Staffing Services is seeking polished, professional, and experienced event staff to support AFROTECH™ Conference 2026 in Houston, TX, the largest Black tech conference of the year. This high-visibility, high-expectation assignment brings together a global community of 20,000+ Black tech innovators for a series of digital and in-person events filled with dynamic programming on emerging trends, networking opportunities with industry leaders, and conversations with top tech recruiters. AFROTECH™ Conference 2026 will take place Sunday, November 1 through Friday, November 6, 2026 in Houston, TX. We're looking for team members who bring professionalism, precision, and poise to every shift.

Roles

Production Assistants & Event Staff

Dates: November 1-6, 2026 | Hours: TBD | Positions Available: Multiple

Support the on-the-ground guest experience across registration, hospitality, and general event operations throughout AFROTECH Conference 2026.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Assembling registration packets and leading the attendee registration experience
• Assisting with registration setup and breakdown
• Providing concierge support in the sponsor lounge and VIP office
• Greeting and wayfinding support for attendees
• Serving as Door Monitors, Room Hosts, and Festival Staff as assigned

Supervisor & Management Roles

Dates: November 1-6, 2026 | Hours: Full Days | Positions Available: Multiple

Supervisors provide on-site leadership, ensuring staff performance and client satisfaction throughout the event.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Working full days and monitoring staff attendance
• Supporting client needs on-site
• Communicating directly with Fierce Leadership throughout the event

Pay rates for Supervisor and Management roles will be provided at interview.

Shift Times & Training

• Shift Times: TBD. We are requesting open availability leading into the event, with confirmed shift times to follow.
• Virtual Training (choose one session): Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 6:30 PM CST or Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 12:00 PM CST
• Mandatory In-Person Training: TBD

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who are:

• Highly professional and polished in appearance and manner
• Strong communicators with excellent customer service instincts
• Calm, composed, and solutions-focused under pressure
• Adaptable and comfortable with shifting priorities in a live event environment
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to performing at a high level
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods throughout a full shift
• Prior experience in conference, convention, hospitality, or large-scale event staffing is strongly preferred

Attire

• All black business casual
• Black pants (no rips or tears)
• Black shirt
• Black closed-toe comfortable shoes
• No athletic wear
