We are hiring a Quality Engineer to support and strengthen a well-established aerospace manufacturing operation in Carson, CA. This role is perfect for a quality professional who understands aerospace standards and compliance, but also brings progressive, modern ideas—smarter data tracking, stronger root-cause discipline, practical prevention tools, and continuous improvement that sticks. You'll work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Leadership to improve quality performance while protecting customer requirements and audit readiness.
What You'll Do
- Drive quality planning and execution in an AS9100 manufacturing environment
- Lead root cause and corrective action efforts (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone), ensuring sustainable fixes—not temporary patches
- Support MRB activities: disposition nonconformances, partner with Engineering on rework/repair, and reduce repeat issues
- Analyze scrap, rework, and defect trends; build dashboards and recommend corrective actions
- Support first-article readiness and ongoing production quality (process control, inspections, documentation alignment)
- Develop and improve quality procedures, control plans, and work instructions to strengthen consistency
- Work directly with production teams to identify risk, improve quality at the source, and reduce escapes
- Support customer requirements, source inspections, and audit activities (internal/customer/registrar)
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams on corrective actions and quality improvements as needed
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years quality engineering experience in aerospace manufacturing (recent, hands-on)
- Strong understanding of aerospace quality systems and documentation expectations (AS9100; AS9102 familiarity a plus)
- Experience leading corrective actions and improving process capability
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to translate requirements into quality controls
- Strong communication skills—able to work across shop floor, engineering, and leadership
- Comfortable using Excel and systems tools to track, trend, and report results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and basic metrology principles
- Experience with supplier quality (SCARs, audits, incoming issues)
- Experience implementing digital quality tools, dashboards, or paperless documentation improvements
- Lean / continuous improvement background (Kaizen mindset)
What We Mean by “Progressive Thinker”
You bring new ideas that improve outcomes, such as:
- Better visual controls and error-proofing on the floor
- Faster, clearer NC/8D processes with accountability
- Simple dashboards that show what matters weekly
- Prevention-focused improvements that reduce scrap and rework
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary (DOE) plus benefits package including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, and paid holidays.
To Apply: Send your resume and include 2–3 examples of quality improvements you've led (scrap reduction, yield improvement, corrective action wins, or audit readiness upgrades).
