Job Title: Aerospace Test Engineer

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Aerospace Test Engineer with our client located in Washington, DC.

Job Description:

• The Aerospace Engineer is responsible for High-speed Wind Tunnel Testing and data analysis.
• Responsibilities include preparing, executing, and analyzing experimental aerodynamic test campaigns to validate the performance of advanced aerospace vehicles and missile systems.
• In this hands-on role, the engineer will collaborate with design teams to translate aerodynamic objectives into concrete test procedures and safely operate wind tunnel facility hardware.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities will include assembling and instrumenting complex sub-scale models with strain-gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow-visualization sensors, as well as developing automated data acquisition routines.
• Responsibilities include monitoring real-time data quality during active wind tunnel runs, the reduction and analysis of large experimental datasets, and documentation of aerodynamic coefficients to validate computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models.

Job Qualifications:

• Preferred 2 years of experience in a relevant aerospace engineering discipline involving aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis.
• Preferred 2 years of direct experience in an aerodynamic laboratory or testing facility (experience at the university level is considered relevant)
• Strong proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools such as LabView and MATLAB.
• Working knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools such as Star?CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, and TAOS.
• Proficiency with CAD software, such as Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Direct Hire
• Salary: $100K-$142K
• Location: Washington, DC.
• Required US Citizen and Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
