JOB TITLE: Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer II
LOCATION: Savannah, GA
PAY RATE: $55/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Conduct complex technical studies and analyze existing or proposed operations; provide recommendations for equipment, manufacturing methods, and process improvements

  • Develop detailed work instructions to optimize efficiency and support zero-defect initiatives

  • Author rework instructions (DRDI/DMT) and maintain MBOMs in systems such as SAP, Solumina, or Corridor

  • Support make-or-buy decisions, evaluate vendors, and assist in resolving supplier issues

  • Perform research and analysis to ensure compliance with requirements and project objectives

  • Prepare justifications for equipment and facility needs

  • Conduct producibility studies and participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) assessments

  • Apply statistical methods to forecast manufacturing needs and generate reports

  • Audit peer work to ensure compliance with engineering policies and procedures

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Lead or coordinate cross-functional projects with minimal supervision

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles as a team member or leader

  • Support safety, sustainability, and ergonomic initiatives

  • Assist in developing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles

  • Understanding of engineering configuration, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop math

  • Experience with systems and tools such as:

    • CAD/CAM (e.g., CATIA, CADAM)

    • Manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP, Solumina, Corridor)

  • Ability to operate and analyze data using computerized systems

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher
