POSITION OVERVIEW
As an
Aerospace Design Engineering Specialist Interconnect Products, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Provide technical oversight to teams involved in the design, analysis, and testing of electrical wiring interconnect system (EWIS) components used in aerospace, industrial, and military applications.
- Support electrical connectors, backshells, conduits, cable assemblies, and related interconnect products.
- Provide technical leadership for new product development, sustaining engineering, internal research and development, manufacturing transitions, and new business proposals.
- Lead engineering Change Order activities and leverage Enovia Product Lifecycle Management systems.
- Review engineering deliverables and provide technical guidance to product engineering teams.
- Guide Integrated Product Teams in effective requirements management throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, manufacturing engineers, sales, and marketing teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and coach cross-functional teams.
- Lead or coach Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations and corrective actions.
- Lead or support Material Review Board assessments of discrepant hardware.
- Apply Aerospace Common Engineering Standards to projects.
QUALIFICATIONS

Aerospace Design Engineering Specialist who enjoys their work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal
Aerospace Design Engineering Specialist would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or another related engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years of product engineering experience in interconnect product development, analysis, and testing.
- Experience with electrical connectors, cable harnesses, conduit assemblies, and related interconnect products.
- Experience leading engineering programs and delegating tasks to and coaching peers or junior engineers.
- Experience leading failure investigations using formal problem-solving methodologies such as 8D or RedX.
- Experience leading product qualification programs for mechanical and/or electrical products.
- Experience developing compliance matrices and validation/verification test plans, procedures, and reports.
- U.S. Person status as required for access to export-controlled information.
- Experience with Enovia PLM and SolidWorks is preferred.
- Experience in aerospace product engineering and interconnect technologies is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of materials science involving metals, polymers, ceramics, glass, and composite materials.
