    Introduction

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our aerospace and defense team. This role involves working on advanced mechanical design projects, focusing on rotor dynamics within aerospace environments.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
    • Extensive Rotor Dynamics experience in mechanical design engineering within aerospace or related industries
    • Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS APDL or ANSYS Workbench
    • Proficiency in 1D Beam based FEA technique
    • Proficiency in Rotor Dynamics & Shafting Structural Analyses
    • Ability to lead design reviews, conduct risk assessments, and mentor engineering teams effectively
    • Proven leadership experience in managing mechanical design projects in aerospace environments
    • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry
    • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

    Preferred Skills & Qualifications

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and cross-disciplinary collaboration
    • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and aerospace certification processes
    • Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards such as AS9100 and MIL-STD
    • Experience with design for manufacturability, tolerance analysis, and mechanical testing methodologies

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    • Conduct rotor dynamics analysis to predict critical speed and create whirl speed maps or Campbell diagrams
    • Lead design reviews and mentor engineering teams
    • Manage mechanical design projects, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards
