    A Day in This Role

    You start your shift in an FAA-approved repair station, open the day’s work instructions, and pull up the model-based definitions for a Boeing 787 control surface. Later, an Airbus A350 panel arrives with a documented nonconformance, and you coordinate with the team to execute the approved repair. Throughout the day, you move between lay-up, taper sanding, and septum core removal/replacement work, verifying dimensions with precision mechanical and electronic gauges and recording your findings as you go.

    What You’ll Work On

    • Repair and rework of composite and metallic aircraft components for Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 platforms within an FAA-approved Repair Station.
    • Execution to structural repair manuals (SRM), component maintenance manuals (CMM), aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM), as well as other approved repair instructions from OEMs and airline customers.
    • Collaborative maintenance, repair, and overhaul of structural and non-structural parts made of fiberglass, acrylic, and other composite materials, along with select metal parts.
    • Adherence to approved manuals, process specifications, quality control requirements, drawings, and established procedures to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work.
    • Multi-tasking across operations and equipment as needed.
    • Hands-on fabrication, rework, and repair of non-metallic parts and assemblies using deep knowledge of composite material behavior and bonding techniques.
    • Rework and repair aligned to Engineering intent through electronic media such as work instructions, model-based definitions, specifications, requirements documents, and MRB dispositions.
    • Dimensional verification using precision inspection tools; may conduct First Article Inspection (FAI).

    Quality and Data Integrity

    • Capture, translate, validate, and provide measurement data that meets engineering intent and top-level requirements.
    • Maintain required personal certifications.
    • Perform complete inspection, including first-part reviews of procured or fabricated parts and assemblies.
    • Initiate and document nonconforming conditions for Material Review Board (MRB) action.
    • Conduct process surveillance to ensure compliance with requirements.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate quality records.
    • Use and interpret CAD/CAM or similar tools to support fabrication, manufacture, or rework to the correct engineering configuration.

    What You Bring

    • Proven skill in taper sanding, lay-up, and septum core removal and replacement.
    • 5+ years of composite repair experience preferred.
    • Ability to be evaluated on the above skills during training.
    • Availability for a phone interview during the selection process.

    Schedule & Demands

    • May start on 1st shift with potential transition to 2nd shift at the manager’s discretion.
    • Capability to stand and work for the entire shift.
    • Openness to overtime and weekend work as needed.
