Job Description

Program, develop, and optimise CNC machining processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput. Support New Part Introduction (NPI) activities, including manufacturability reviews, process development, and production readiness. Review customer drawings and CAD models, ensuring tolerances align with manufacturing capabilities and providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for machining, tooling, and quality issues. Develop and maintain process documentation, tooling specifications, setup instructions, and manufacturing standards. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cycle times, scrap rates, tooling costs, and material waste. Collaborate with estimating, customer service, quality, production, and sales teams to support customer requirements and project timelines. Train and support production personnel on machining processes, best practices, and process improvements. Ensure compliance with quality standards, manufacturing regulations, and workplace safety requirements.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline; relevant manufacturing experience may be considered in place of a degree. Hands-on experience programming and operating CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling selection, materials, and manufacturing best practices. Proficiency with CAD software and interpreting engineering drawings. Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications. Understanding of quality control principles, manufacturing safety, and process improvement methodologies. Experience with GD&T and complex tolerance analysis preferred. Exposure to CAM software, ERP systems, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or manufacturing automation is highly desirable. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders regarding technical and manufacturing requirements. Experience with multi-axis machining, horizontal mills, lathes, mill-turn equipment, or Swiss machining is a plus.
