QCMI is looking for a CNC professional who thrives on transforming prints into flawless parts. You’ll partner with Engineering to plan each job, collaborate with Quality to verify every GD&T feature, and work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Manufacturing to protect schedule and customer commitments.
Core responsibilities
- Independently set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for production runs.
- Interpret complex blueprints; apply geometric tolerances accurately.
- Edit and optimize programs at the control (Fanuc/Okuma/Haas).
- Select tooling and set parameters for steels, aluminums, castings, forgings, and exotic alloys.
- Perform in‑process checks and first‑article inspections to meet spec.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist in a machine shop.
- Proficient at setups; able to work unsupervised.
- Competent making program changes at machining centers.
- Strong communicator with dependable, team‑oriented work habits and a readiness to work overtime when requested.
- Own tools required.
Continuous improvement & standards
- Lean manufacturing principles (preferred).
- Six Sigma methodologies (preferred).
- General understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems.
