Clearance & Location Requirements:
  • All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • This is a 100% onsite position at our Mount Laurel, NJ facility.

Key Responsibilities

What You Will Do:
  • Understand and communicate detailed system specifications to a level sufficient to refactor existing combat system design for improved efficiency and/or effectiveness
  • Lead the development of software that meets rigorous certification standards and validation processes
  • Participate and direct activities in the ongoing testing and rearchitecting of systems as programs evolve
  • Execute complex system stress tests and utilize industry tools like Cameo / MagicDraw and/or IBM Rhapsody to model and evaluate weapon system behavior
  • Calculate, analyze, and evaluate probabilistic combat system performance measures particularly for live-fire and -related scenarios
  • Provide guidance, support, and domain knowledge transfer to junior engineering staff.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Who You Are Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics, or equivalent full-time professional experience
  • 7+ years of full-time professional experience in System Engineering, or related technical roles
  • Documented experience as the lead engineer for a technical program or project
  • Familiarity with systems engineering and modeling concepts, including proficiency with Cameo / MagicDraw or Rhapsody
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages: C++, Java, Python, or MATLAB
  • Strong willingness to learn complex new domains, such as defense architectures and probabilistic performance measures
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, as needed

What Makes You Stand Out:
  • Previous professional experience with the Aegis Combat System
  • Experience with the US Missile Defense System (MDS) and in-depth knowledge of at least one of its elements
  • Advanced academic degree in a STEM field
  • Knowledge of radar and/or digital signal processing principles
  • Proficiency with IBM DOORS
  • Experience working with SysML
  • Knowledge of probabilistic combat system performance measures (e.g., PD, PES, PK).
  • Experience applying AI and/or ML to solve technical problems
  • Familiarity with software certification principles and the use of AI agents for recompiling tasks

Pay Range*:  $135,000 - $231,000 or $164,000 - $273,000
*Pursuant to New Jersey Senate Bill 2310 IDT is required to disclose the “pay scale” or “pay range” associated with a job posting. Notably, however, this amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate’s experience, skills, and education.
