Adventureland Park - Security Agent

• Enforce all Parkrules and regulations

• Monitor Parkassets with intentto ensure the safety ofallour guests andhosts

• Maintain constant vigilance while the park isoperatingtoidentifyany potential issues or safety concerns communicate any potential issues toother departments and/orleadershipin a timely manner

• Conduct bag checks to preventprohibited items fromentering the park

• Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environmentfor colleagues and guests

• Monitor guest safety and communicate conflicts to supervisors on duty

• Take control ofemergencyand intense situations whileremainingcalm

• Professionally manage crowd control during emergency situations

• Continuouslymonitorguest behaviors andattemptto curtail any potential situations before they escalate further

• Exercise clear and concise communications with all park departments

• Answer phone calls, providing pleasant and helpful phone contact for staffandthe public.

• Assistin safety prevention efforts, including responding to all safety calls, fire alarms, and emergencies.

• Utilize electronic card access, closed circuit television, and other audio/visual monitoring systems,monitorsand supervises the response to all reports or irregular conditions, including the unauthorizedentry of persons or vehicles to protected buildings and areas, breaches of perimeter security or any other suspicious activities occurring on the property.

• All other duties as assigned by leadership

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Equivalentwork experience will also be considered

• 1+ year ofprevioussecurity or related experience highly desired

Language:Ability to read, write, and speak fluentEnglish Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Requirements:  

• Must be atleast 18 yearsof age tocomply withIowaChild Labor Laws

• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Must be able to work third shift (overnight) if the park securityoperateson a 24-hour schedule

• Musthave reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift

• Mustpossessa valid driver’s license anda good drivingrecord

• Ability tosafely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment

• Ability tocomprehendand carry out verbal and written instructions

• Ability to apply knowledge of security methods, procedures,interviewing, listening, and note-takingtechniquesforspecific situations

• Ability to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with the public without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs

• Ability to analyze people and/or situations quickly and calmly and takeappropriate actionsin a quick and effective manner

• Ability tooperatea variety of electronic equipment, such as cameras, radios, personal computers, or other communication devices

• Ability toprofessionally and calmly deal with stressful and/or tense situations

• Ability to collaborate with otherhosts, external first responders, and emergency personnel during emergency situations

• Mustpossessexceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner

• Ability tomaintaincertifications as required by assignment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday

• Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders

• Ability to walk, stand, or run on uphill, downhill, or uneven surfaces.

• Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer/camera equipment

• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objectsweighing 30 poundsor more

• Must have good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision.

• Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away

Working Conditions:

• This role will be basedinboth an office setting as well as frequentexposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environments

• Frequentexposure tothevariableoutside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

• Subject to dark environments, particularly during midnight shift

• Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, andheavily populated environments

• Subject to frequentinterruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
