Position Title: Advancement Officer

Job Classification: 12-month employee

Reports to: Vice President of Advancement

Position Summary:

The Advancement Officer is responsible for developing and implementing donor engagement and fundraising strategies that advance the mission of We Teach Truth (WTT), specifically Martin Luther, Mount Calvary Lutheran, and Wauwatosa Lutheran. This role manages a portfolio of 100+ donors and prospects, cultivates meaningful relationships with supporters, and secures philanthropic support through major gifts, planned giving, capital campaigns, scholarships, and special projects. The Advancement Officer serves as a key ambassador for the organization, building strong connections among donors, school leadership, faculty, staff, and the broader community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of 100+ donors and prospective supporters through strategic moves management.
  • Build and maintain meaningful, long-term relationships with donors and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct donor visits, meetings, and engagement opportunities to deepen support and commitment.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, contact reports, and advancement metrics within the organization''s donor management systems.
  • Create and cultivate individualized stewardship plans for specific WTT locations. (specific to your location).
  • Represent the WTT Advancement Office at donor meetings, cultivation events, department meetings, and local planning meetings.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of advancement, sales, or other relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A deep spiritual and personal commitment to Jesus Christ

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, education advancement, or faith-based organizations.
  • Knowledge of major gifts, planned giving, and capital campaign fundraising strategies.
  • Experience managing donor portfolios and moves management processes.
  • Proven success in sales, business development, fundraising, advancement, or related relationship-based roles, with a demonstrated ability to build partnerships, engage stakeholders, and achieve measurable results.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships that drive retention, growth, and repeat business.
  • Experience managing and growing large sales territories, regions, or strategic account portfolios

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, 12-month position requiring regular engagement with donors, school personnel, community leaders, and organizational stakeholders through meetings, events, and fundraising activities.
