    Summary:

    The Advanced Practice Provider is an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary inter-professional health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients in clinic/office. Participates in patient and family teaching. All duties and responsibilities must be accomplished with the guidelines of the established protocols and in accordance with the Physician Written Practice Agreement as required by New York State.

    Responsibilities:

    EDUCATION -NURSE PRACTITIONER

    • Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
    • Unencumbered registered nursing and nurse practitioner licenses in New York State
    • Hold National Certification in specialty care
    • Master's Degree required
    • Current CPR certification and biannual certification required
    • ACLS certification preferred
    • Valid DEA Certificate

    EDUCATION - PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

    • Graduate of an approved NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and CAHEA accredited Physician Assistant training program (Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA)
    • Valid New York State Physician Assistant License
    • Valid certification by the NCCPA as developed by the National Board of Medical Examiners
    • Current CPR certification and biannual certification required
    • ACLS certification preferred
    • Valid DEA certificate

    EXPERIENCE

    • Experience in a Surgical practice setting preferred
    • One (1) year of recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred
