Description

This position is recognized for clinical expertise directly supporting the educational needs of clinical advanced practice providers (APPs) in an area of specialization for the advancement of clinical practice and professional development. The position entails the utilization of education, planning and coordination that demonstrates expertise in clinical practice. Participates in the collaboration and consultation with administrative disciplines for new programs and service improvement. Utilizes research principles to facilitate and promote evidence based practice. The Clinical APP Education Specialist is competent in medical diagnosis, treatment, ordering & prescribing of medications, etc. Works directly with staff, administration, operational leadership, physicians, patients and families to coordinate patient care and ensure the highest quality of care across the continuum as an expert in selected practice areas. Will integrate current knowledge of professional issues, trends in health care and technological advances into their scope of practice. The Clinical APP Education Specialist must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Supports the mission and vision of BHSF, and the Advanced Practice Providers Team. Estimated salary range for this position is $126148.63 - $167777.68 / year depending on experience.

Qualifications

Degrees:

  • Masters.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License or Physician Assistant License required.
  • 8 years of APP experience required.
  • Obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges.
  • Compliant with state requirements for CEUs/CMEs and licensure renewal.
  • DEA License required as per specialty.
  • Life Support Certificate (BLS, NRP, PALS, ACLS) as per department standard.
  • National certification required (NCCPA National certification required for Physician Assistants, Acute Care, Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Acute Care or other national Nurse Practitioner certification required for Nurse Practitioners), Specialty certification preferred.
