Join the nationally recognized Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Allergy team at UVA Health Childrens providing comprehensive care for infants children and adolescents with complex gastrointestinal and allergic disorders. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment supporting both the Pediatric Eosinophilic Esophagitis EoE and GI-Allergy programs as well as the General Pediatric Gastroenterology service.

The APP will work alongside pediatric gastroenterologists allergists registered dietitians nurses and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver evidence-based patient- and family-centered care. The role includes participation in multidisciplinary specialty clinics while also providing independent follow-up care to improve patient access continuity and timely management of chronic gastrointestinal diseases.

This position is ideal for an APP who enjoys caring for medically complex patients values interdisciplinary collaboration and is passionate about improving access to specialty pediatric care.

Preferred qualifications Pediatric gastroenterology allergyimmunology or other pediatric subspecialty experience preferred. Experience caring for children with chronic gastrointestinal or allergic conditions. Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong clinical assessment communication and patientfamily education skills. Experience managing ambulatory pediatric patients and coordinating longitudinal care.

ADMINISTRATION Collaborate with physicians nursing dietitians and administrative staff to promote efficient clinic operations and optimize patient access. Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on access care coordination and patient outcomes. Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.

PROFESSIONAL Practice in accordance with UVA Health policies state licensure requirements and national APP standards. Maintain required licensure certifications and continuing education. Participate in departmental education professional development and performance improvement activities.

CLINICAL Evaluate diagnose and manage pediatric patients with eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders food allergy-related gastrointestinal conditions and other pediatric gastrointestinal diseases. Provide comprehensive follow-up care for patients within the EoE GI-Allergy and General Pediatric Gastroenterology clinics. Collaborate closely with pediatric gastroenterologists allergists and registered dietitians in multidisciplinary clinic settings to develop individualized treatment plans. Order interpret and communicate diagnostic testing laboratory studies and imaging. Provide patient and family education regarding disease management nutrition medications and long-term care plans. Facilitate continuity of care through coordination with referring providers and multidisciplinary team members.

LEADERSHIP Promote a culture of collaboration safety and patient-centered care. Support departmental quality improvement clinical guideline implementation and evidence-based practice initiatives. Serve as a resource for patients families learners and interdisciplinary team members.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a masters degree.

Experience Department and unit specific.

Licensure License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider Nurse Practitioner and Physician Associate as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support BLS required. Current PALSNRP as required specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS as required specific to position.

The pay range for this role is 116123.00 - 171163.20 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidates qualifications previous work experience andor education.
