The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidates educational background, skills and professional experience.
Position Details:
- Cardiology Practice
- M-F 8-430pm
- Inpatient and Outpatient
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant PA in Cardiology provides clinical care to patients with acute and chronic heart conditions in hospital, critical care, or outpatient clinic settings
- Barnegat/Lakewood
Setting:
- Inpatient cardiac care units, step-down, or hospital consults, outpatient cardiology clinics, or critical care CCU/ICU
Patient Evaluation & Management:
- Perform detailed history and physical examinations, manage daily rounds, and design evidence-based treatment plans
Acute & Chronic Care:
- Manage conditions such as acute coronary syndrome (ACS), heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiogenic shock, and post-procedural recovery
Diagnostics & Procedures:
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests), and manage or assist with specialized cardiac devices/procedures (e,g, IABP, Impella, ECMO, or structural heart pathways depending on subspecialty)
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, fellows, nurses, pharmacists) and educate patients and families on long-term cardiac health,
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate, timely records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic,
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner NP or Physician Assistant PA program
Licensure & Certification:
- Active state RN and APN/NP (ACNP or FNP) or PA-C license
- Board certification in specialty/primary scope
- Active DEA and Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) registrations
- BLS and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications,
Experience:
- Prior background in cardiology, critical care, or emergency medicine is typically preferred or required depending on the acuity of the unit (new graduates are sometimes considered for specific step-down or general
