If IH Pathway requirement is not successfully completed within the timeframe, employee should be transferred into the Technician Pharmacy position in accordance with IH policy and procedures . One of the following: • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 

1 of the most recent 2 years’ experience working as a pharmacy technician in an advanced setting

 

Licensure, Registration, Certification: 

Current registry with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy

One of the following:
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification

 

Other: 

Maintain one of the following Infirmary Health Pathways:
• Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique Pathway
• Controlled Substance Pathway
• Inventory Management Pathway
• Possess similar experience at a former employer and maintain one of the above pathways within 6 months of placement in position*

Responsibilities:

Facilitates operational efficiencies by providing assistance to pharmacists through procuring, processing, and distributing information and pharmaceuticals.
