Advanced Operations Officer

About the Role 

Signal Security is looking for two experienced, dependable security professionals to join our Jacksonville market as Advanced Operations Officers. This is a senior field leadership role — not an entry-level position. You will serve as the operational backbone of the branch, working directly alongside the Operations Manager to keep staffing covered, officers trained, and clients served without interruption. These officers represent Signal Security at our highest-profile client locations and are expected to lead by example at all times. 

Compensation and Performance Path 

We believe in rewarding performance quickly. Here is how it works: 

• Start at $17.00 per hour 

• 30-day evaluation conducted by the Operations Supervisor to assess performance and standards 

• At the 90-day mark, officers meeting the standard move to $18.00 per hour 

• Officers not meeting the standard at 90 days will be offered a transition to a regular officer role or a mutual separation 

Performance expectations will be clearly outlined in a document signed during orientation so there is no ambiguity from day one. 

Positions Available 

Advanced Operations Officer — Days | 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM 

• Assisting with daily scheduling and coverage 

• Training newly hired officers 

• Working Walmart locations as needed 

• Conducting field evaluations 

• Performing quality assurance inspections 

• Covering patrol routes during vacancies 

• Assisting with client visits 

• Responding to operational issues throughout the day 

Advanced Operations Officer — Evenings | 7:00 PM – 3:00 AM 

• Evening operational support 

• Walmart supervision 

• Patrol route coverage 

• Night inspections 

• Officer mentoring 

• Emergency response 

• After-hours scheduling support 

• Client issue resolution 

Hospital Coverage 

Signal Security provides security services for Jacksonville ER & Hospital seven days per week from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Both Advanced Operations Officers will alternate hospital assignments as part of their regularly scheduled workload to ensure continuous coverage. 

• Maintaining uninterrupted hospital coverage 

• Rotating assignments to prevent fatigue 

• Ensuring zero uncovered shifts 

• Working with Operations Management to balance schedules 

• Maintaining all billable hours whenever possible 

Any overtime required must receive prior approval from the Operations Manager and should only occur when necessary to maintain client coverage. 

Minimum Billable Hour Requirements 

Each Advanced Operations Officer is required to maintain a minimum of four billable days per week. Billable assignments include: 

• Jacksonville ER & Hospital 

• Walmart assignments 

• Patrol routes 

• Dedicated client coverage 

• Emergency fill-in assignments 

Administrative work shall be scheduled around billable assignments whenever practical. 

Cross-Training Requirements 

Each Advanced Operations Officer must be fully trained and capable of performing every operational assignment within the Jacksonville branch. Each AO will complete the AO SPI training and will be evaluated and checked off using the standard AO training checklist. Every AO must be capable of immediately filling any open assignment without additional training.

• Hospital-specific post orders 

• Patient and visitor interaction 

• Access control 

• De-escalation techniques

• Coordination with hospital staff and law enforcement 

Scheduling Responsibilities 

Advanced Operations Officers are responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in maintaining complete schedule integrity. The objective is to maintain zero client vacancies whenever operationally possible. 

• Filling open shifts before they become client issues 

• Contacting officers for coverage 

• Covering vacant shifts when necessary 

• Assisting with weekly schedules 

• Monitoring attendance 

• Tracking staffing shortages 

• Identifying scheduling conflicts before they occur 

• Assisting with on-call coverage 

Training Responsibilities 

Advanced Operations Officers serve as Field Training Officers. Training covers every Walmart location, every patrol assignment, and hospital operations. 

• Training all new officers 

• Conducting refresher training 

• Evaluating officer performance 

• Coaching officers 

• Reinforcing company standards 

• Ensuring policy compliance 

• Correcting deficiencies in the field 

• Documenting completed training 

Operations Support 

Advanced Operations Officers serve as extensions of the Operations Manager and assist with: 

• Daily operational planning 

• Officer accountability 

• Schedule management 

• Client concerns 

• Site, uniform, and vehicle inspections 

• Report reviews 

• Performance evaluations 

• Emergency staffing 

• Incident follow-up 

• Field supervision 

Nights, Weekends, and Rotation 

To ensure operational consistency, both Advanced Operations Officers will rotate responsibilities that include: 

• Night coverage 

• Weekend coverage 

• Hospital assignments 

• Walmart support 

• Patrol coverage 

• On-call assistance 

This rotation provides operational continuity while ensuring no single officer bears the burden of all after-hours responsibilities.

Position Qualifications 

• Minimum 2 years of security, military, or law enforcement experience (preferred) 

• Valid Florida Class D Security License (required) 

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record 

• Demonstrated leadership experience

• Strong report-writing abilities 

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Ability to train and mentor other officers
