Description

Build precision. Build your career.

Imagine wrapping up a productive Thursday night with a full weekend ahead. On our 2nd shift, you’ll work a 4-day week (Monday–Thursday), choosing Noon–10:00 pm or 2:00 pm–12:30 am. Earn a competitive wage with a $2/hr shift differential and receive a $4,000 sign-on bonus.

Your impact

As an Advanced CNC Turning and Milling Technician, you’ll transform prints into precision components. You’ll orchestrate setups, load tooling, refine offsets, and execute programs across multiple CNC platforms—keeping quality high and cycle times tight. You’ll mentor teammates, pitch in as a Production Group Leader when needed, and contribute to continuous improvement every day.

How you’ll excel

  • Leverage process sheets, blueprints, setup documentation, machine status boards, and instructions to plan and execute work.
  • Machine, install, or re-cut chuck jaws; secure tooling in turrets.
  • Use hand tools and manual machines to support CNC operations.
  • Own machine setups with minimal guidance and confirm gauge calibration.
  • Download/upload CNC programs; perform minor program edits.
  • Run turning, drilling, milling, and tapping operations to tight tolerances on varied CNC controls.
  • Optimize offsets for materials, tooling wear, and machine-center conditions.
  • Troubleshoot advanced issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Inspect your work and, when assigned, verify others’ work; complete all quality documentation.
  • Operate multiple machines; rotate among department work centers as production needs evolve.
  • Enter production data into the ERP system; engage in continuous improvement/RBS initiatives.
  • Coach less experienced machinists and provide Production Group Leader coverage as required.

What it takes

  • Background operating CNC lathes and/or mills (ideally two machine types) with proven setup capability.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of relevant CNC machining experience, with knowledge of CNC machining principles/methods.
  • Competence in basic math; ability to read English blueprints and work instructions.
  • External candidates must pass a Machinist test assessing mechanical aptitude.
  • Physical readiness to stand an entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
