The High-Speed CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual and CNC machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make or repair tooling.Shift: 12-hour rotation on a 2-2-3 schedule, or 8-hour Monday-FridaySIGN-ON BONUS UP TO $5,000!Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe list below reflects the general details necessary to describe the principal and essential functions of the position and shall not be construed as the only duties that may be assigned for the position.
Fit and assemble parts to make or repair tooling, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining proceduresSelect the appropriate tools, machines, materials, speed, and feeds required to complete the machining of assigned component partsMachine parts to the required specifications up to +/- .00005 tolerances using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and 5-axis machinesUtilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure the accuracy of machined componentsCommunicate with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical informationWork independently by utilizing drawings and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to complete all tasks in a safe mannerExperience in CNC machine setup and programmingKnowledge of Electrical discharge machiningKnowledge of speeds and feeds for carbide cutters used in machining tool steelsThe ability to program conversational and tool path programs in multiple formatsExperience with multi-axis, 5-axis simultaneousBlueprint and GD&T concepts knowledgeAbility to hold close tolerance to +/- .00005

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or HSED/GED EquivalentMust understand G & M codes and have knowledge of FANUC, HEIDENHAIN, and/or SEIMENS controlsAt least 2 years of CNC experience
