Advance Practice Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) - Oncology Complex Care - Full Time, Days
Patient population
- Oncology, Hematology, Surgical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology patients
- Active Treatment Patients in the Infusion Treatment Area
- Ability to manage a panel of 6 patients/day
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Hematology/Oncology independently managing Oncology patients with acute medical diagnoses and complications from their treatment or their cancer (minimum of 1 year working autonomously in Heme/Onc)
- BLS certification
- Proficiency and understanding of cancer diagnoses and their treatment options
- APSHO Cancer Therapy Prescribing Course
- Proficiency in EPIC Electronic Health Record
- Any prior procedure proficiency (e.g. bone marrow biopsy, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, drain management, wound care, CORTRAK NG tube insertion)
We are seeking an experienced Oncology/Hematology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with at least one year of experience to play a key role in launching an innovative outpatient program designed to deliver same-day care for oncology patients with urgent needs. This program is built around a forward-thinking vision: to provide comprehensive, patient-centered assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute oncology-related concerns—helping patients access timely care while reducing unnecessary emergency room visits. In this dynamic role, the APP will not only support urgent outpatient evaluations but also provide clinical coverage in the Infusion Area for acute issues and participate in building-wide emergency response efforts. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new model of oncology care while working at the forefront of improving patient outcomes and experience.

The Physician Assistant (PA) functions under this Physician Assistant Job Description approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC). Specific functions pertaining to the Service, Clinic or Department are established by the PA and his/her supervising physician(s), and approved by the appropriate medical and nursing administrators, the IDPC, the Credentials & Privileges Committee, the Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC) Medical Executive Committee and the SHC Board Credentials, Policies and Procedures Committee.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $89.01 - $117.94 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
