Adult Education, part-time ESOL/HSE instructor
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The duties include, but are not limited to the following
Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned ESOL and/or HSE classes during the day or evening, remotely or in person.
- Plan and deliver lessons utilizing curriculum according to MA English Language Pro?ciency Standards (MA ELPS).
- Assess student progress and provide guidance and support as students develop their academic and language skills and pursue their educational and career goals.
- Complete required training in DESE-approved assessment tools.
- Collaborate with lead teachers on curriculum development and implementation
- Assist with student registration, assessment, and placement.
- Participate in scheduled staff meetings and professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, goals, progress, and other required information.
- Integrate digital literacy into instruction and collaborate with community partner programs.
Required Quali?cations:
- Bachelor''s degree
- At least 3 years of successful teaching experience in any
- Experience teaching adult learners, including refugees and immigrants.
- Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse adult populations.
- Knowledge of performance standards and effective instructional practices that support the Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Standards (MA ELPS).
- Understanding of adult second-language acquisition and literacy development.
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and technology skills.
- Proficiency in using instructional technology, including Microsoft Outlook and Google Workspace.

E?ective Date of Employment: Immediately
Terms of Employment: Hours not to exceed 18 per week, no bene?ts
Compensation: $45 per hour
