Role Description The Puppy Adoption Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Cleveland, NC. This position is responsible for guiding prospective families through the adoption process, including introductions to puppies, explaining care requirements, and reviewing adoption policies. Daily tasks include conducting adoptions, coordinating paperwork, maintaining accurate records. The role also involves monitoring puppy wellbeing, collaborating with the care team, and providing education on responsible pet ownership. The specialist will work directly with visitors and help ensure each puppy is matched with an appropriate, loving home.
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen actively, explain policies clearly, and interact professionally with diverse individuals and families.
Analytical skills to assess adoption applications, evaluate home suitability, and make informed, responsible recommendations.
Demonstrated compassion for animals, especially puppies, and commitment to their health, safety, and emotional wellbeing.
Ability to work on-site, including weekends or holidays as needed, and collaborate effectively with a small, dedicated team.
Organizational skills to manage documentation, scheduling, and follow-up communications efficiently.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in animal care, behavior, or related fields are beneficial.

Saturday: 8:30am-6pm
