JOB SUMMARY
Registers patients and processes related paperwork. Interviews incoming patients or representatives and enters information required for admission into the patient registration computer system. Schedules appointments and performs necessary day-end functions such as charge entry.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Executive Director of Physician Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Some business training preferred.
Work Experience
Work experience with the public required. Some hospital experience preferred.
License/Certification
Patient registration admitting computer system application preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Interviews incoming patients or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer: Interviews patient or representative to obtain and record name, address, age, religion, persons to notify in case of emergency, attending physician, and individual or insurance company responsible for payment of bill.
- Schedules patients in electronic scheduling system.
- Enters daily charges into computer and scans documentation into document management system.
- Obtains signed statement from patient to protect hospital's interests.
- May receive payments on account.
OTHER DUTIES
May be expected to perform clerical and secretarial work. Performs other duties and special project work as required.
