UTHealth Houstons Behavioral Sciences Campus is hiring a Staff Nurses!
The Staff Nurses will work in Admissions, with two schedules available: 7am to 7:30pm.
All BSC employees go through a mandatory 2-week hospital-wide orientation, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
The John S. Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center and Harris County Psychiatric Center at UTHealth Houston create our Behavioral Sciences Campus. BSC offers individualized inpatient treatment options for a variety of behavioral health disorders across the 23 units on-site. These units include treatment in child/adolescent, adult/geriatric, co-occurring disease, psychosis, and competency restoration units.

Position Summary: Assesses patients medical and psychiatric needs and provides professional nursing care in response to this assessment. Directs and supervises the delivery of care by other nursing team members (LVNs and Psychiatric Technicians) in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Minimum Experience: Years of experience varies based on education level.
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive: This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
