Admissions Counselor February 26, 2026 Long Island Campus Admissions

This position has the primary responsibility of recruiting prospective students and evaluating applications for admission to St. Josephs University, New York. Admissions Counselors are responsible for an assigned recruitment and enrollment territory and carries out initiatives to meet established application and enrollment goals. This position meets with prospective students and their families, conducts admissions information sessions, and attends on and off campus events.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Recruit first year transfer adult online and graduate students to St. Josephs University, NY. • Review and evaluate applications for admission and assigned transfer credit. • Evaluate admitted students for potential merit-based scholarships and awards. • Participate in on-campus and off-campus events, including open houses, virtual events, college fairs, school visits, and special events. • Interview and host prospective students and their families, and present information sessions promoting the University. • Provide customer service and follow up with students, parents, counselors, CBOs, and other constituencies. • Act as a liaison with various academic departments and student services offices. • Maintain active involvement in professional organizations, such as NYACAC, NACAC, and WSCA, through participation in activities and events. • Assist with various admissions tasks and projects as directed by the Office of Admissions. • Assist with covering evening and weekend hours as needed. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education Skills Required A Bachelors Degree is required. 1-2 years of related experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must have a valid drivers license and ability to travel for work. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required. Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google. Experience with Slate and Colleague systems preferred.

Salary Range In compliance with NYCs Pay Transparency Act, the annual starting salary for this position is $45,000. St. Josephs University, New York considers factors such as but not limited to scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education, training, key skills, internal peer equity, geographic location, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
