Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
Counselors create rapport with students using interpersonal techniques such as active listening, expressions of empathy, demonstrating positive regard and empowerment, providing clear and accurate information, using questioning, challenging, and reflecting techniques, etc. Same day responses to student emails are generally expected. Emails arriving within 15 minutes of the end of the workday may be responded to early on the next business day.
Customer Relationship Management tools
Degree Works·Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Bookings).
Zoom technology.
Documentation of daily activities.
Technical Proficiency & ability to maintain such proficiency in relevant software to stremaline admissions processes.
