    Position Summary

    DESCRIPTION:

    The Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director is responsible for contributing to the overall enrollment success of the College. The Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director will manage a territory requiring strategic planning and management to attract and enroll a diverse and talented new-student class. The Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director will develop relationships with school counselors and prospective students from their assigned territory by conducting recruitment travel, conducting regional programs along with email and phone communications. During a typical recruitment cycle, the Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director will travel approximately 25% of the time.

    OUTCOME:

    Meet the specific new student enrollment goals established yearly as a factor in maintaining overall enrollment goals of the college.

    Essential Functions

    • Recruit for program and/or territory assignments to ensure effective enrollment of targeted new students. Execute best practice relationship building and decision making with student prospects, and maintain accurate and complete records within Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Slate system. Utilize Slate to effectively manage recruitment and make strategic, data-driven decisions on measurable recruitment activities in order to achieve annual enrollment goals. (25%)
    • Demonstrate a commitment to recruiting a diverse student population. (5%)
    • Implement, coordinate, and participate in lead generation events and activities, both on and off campus. Travel on behalf of the university, speaking publicly to individuals, and groups on and off campus. Present information about York College to groups of students, parents, educators, and alumni. Correspond with students, alumni, parents, and educators. (25%)
    • Evaluate and execute admission decisions on applicant files. (10%)
    • Maintain, report, and recommend changes to York College of Pa Admissions policies and procedures to ensure effective admissions practices that meet the needs and standards of both new students and the college. Analyze data and statistics to identify trends/patterns that impact assigned recruitment territory. (5%)
    • Maintain relationships with appropriate campus constituents, acting as primary liaisons to key departments and off-campus referral sources. Develop and maintain working relationships with industry professionals and maintain current knowledge of contemporary higher education enrollment management. (5%)
    • Develop and maintain working relationships with high school counselors and maintain market research on the primary geographical territory assigned. (15%)
    • Work effectively within a team environment and participate in the planning and execution of on-campus and off-campus recruitment events. (5%)
    • Ability to design and implement admission recruitment programs independently. (5%)

    Experience and Education Required

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 1-2 years of experience in college admissions or sales, preferred
    • Functional knowledge of working with CRM systems to manage an assigned territory, preferred.

    • Exemplary oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time with some weekends and evenings required
