General Summary:

This position works under the direction of the Residential Services Director. Determines appropriateness of patient referral. Follows treatment candidates through referral, precertification, and admission process. Coordinates and performs assessment/admission day activities and process. Communicates with the public regarding program, admission criteria, available openings, etc. This is a safety sensitive position when around patients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews clinical information to determine eligibility and appropriate level of care.
  • Coordinates and schedules admission dates and times with guardian and designated team members, including Psychiatrist and Clinical Therapist.
  • Maintains liaison with all departments and works with the multi-disciplinary team; directs assessment activities among disciplines.
  • Ensures that incoming patient information is available in a timely manner to designated clinical team.
  • Communicates information to agencies, parents, guardians, patients, etc. in an accurate and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, licensed associates and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Basic understanding of calculation of figures

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in human services preferred. Clinical experience with youth and families preferred. Must be skilled in a variety of computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, see, walk and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to personally restrain patients. Must maintain a current tuberculosis skin test. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
