Brookhaven Retirement Community
Primary Purpose of the Position: To successfully manage BrookHaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center & BrookHaven's Assisted Living prospected referrals by managing community and hospital inquiries. As well as developing relationships with all referral sources.
Customer/Clients by Position: Prospects; Their Families; Hospitals; Social Service and Case Management Departments; Referral Sources; Departments on Aging; Senior Organizations; Ohio Department of Health; Insurance Carrier and the Surrounding Community.
Qualifications :
- Experience in skilled nursing and long term care preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care, and Medicaid insurances preferred.
- Knowledge of Allscripts and Kettering Health Link preferred.
- Must be computer proficient with moderate skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to meet reporting deadlines as determined by the Administrator.
- Must be able to manage a fast-paced environment with the ability to shift attention rapidly between priorities.
- Willingness to be flexible with work schedule to fit the needs of potential prospects.
- Pleasant, compassionate, outgoing personality.
- Must be accountable and willing to make tough decisions under tight timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation and attendance a must.
- Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English language.
Required Education: High School Diploma or greater.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Handles intake of all referrals and inquiries.
- Is able to manage a fast-paced environment.
- Is someone who can multi-task.
- Is very organized.
- Completes all necessary admissions paperwork for all admissions in a timely manner.
- Completes insurance verifications on all admissions.
- Communicates and coordinates all admissions admitting from community and/or hospital for skilled nursing or long term care, and all move-ins to the Assisted Living.
- Maintains necessary information in Point Click Care (PCC) in a timely manner.
- Maintains current knowledge of the industry, our services and provides prospects with current information.
- Participates in activities and events that promote the campus.
- Attend corporate and local training as requested by Administrator.
- Utilizes technology (iPhone, iPad) to effectively plan, maintain, and document referral activity.
- Is self-sufficient and works independently, but also has the ability to work with the BrookHaven team to clearly communicate for appropriate admissions planning.
- Gives tours of the nursing center and rehabilitation unit to walk-ins and scheduled appointments.
- Gives tours of the assisted living to walk-ins and scheduled appointments.
- Follows all terms and conditions set forth in the employee handbook.
