ADMISSION ASSISTANT

 

Part-Time

20 hours a week

4 hours a day Mon-Fri

 

What You'll Do:

 

As an Admissions Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for individuals and families considering admission to our facility. Your role involves guiding them through the admission process, addressing their concerns, and ensuring a smooth transition into our community.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Experience in a long-term care facility a plus
•  Ability to read, write and follow written and oral directions in English
•  greets and assists residents and families in a professional and courteous manner.
•  Prepare all required admissions paperwork
•  Complete required admission office paperwork on each new admission ensuring that timelines are met.
•  Ability to answer the phone in a pleasant and efficient manner taking accurate messages.
•  Demonstrates cooperation in assisting director and ability to work as a team.
•  Process mail, answer telephones, accurately record messages and respond to inquiries in a courteous manner.

What You'll Bring:

 

Qualifications of an Admissions Coordinator include:

• Business Administration degree and/or 3-5 years related experience in long-term care
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the admission process within a nursing facility
• Empathy for the needs of individuals and families during the transition process
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
