Description

Job Title: Admission Evaluator

Location: Oakland, CA

Duration: 6 Months

Work Mode: Fully Remote

Pay: $20.68/hr on w2

Summary:

  • Review and process applications for admission to the company's academic programs.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Operations and the Office of Admission to evaluate applications, read essay statements, and rate them as instructed.
  • Work with Assistant Directors of Assessment and Evaluation to ensure consistent and accurate review of applications.
  • Counsel and communicate with prospective students regarding academic program suitability, entry options, and curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure detailed evaluation of applications, including checking for completeness, prerequisite courses, exam scores, and GPA calculations.
  • Consult with academic departments for graduate program admission decisions based on eligibility criteria.
  • Maintain contact with the admissions review team throughout the application process.
  • Communicate with applicants regarding application status and admission decisions.
  • Provide training for colleagues in application processing protocols.
  • Evaluate and communicate best practices for application review processes.
  • Update status in CAS and Student Information systems for designated cohorts.
  • Collaborate with the Admission Operations/Evaluation team to analyze application review approaches.
  • Assist colleagues with admitted, waitlisted, and denied applicants upon release of admission decisions.
  • Work with Admission Counselor and Ops/Evaluation Team to confirm receipt of official transcripts and test score reports from admitted students.
  • Ensure accuracy of recruitment tools in collaboration with the Senior Director of Operations, Office of Admission.
  • Participate in occasional review planning and processing meetings.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Senior Director of Operations, Office of Admission.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with spreadsheet software such as Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, including effective written communication.
  • Ability to read English and carry out written instructions.
  • Ability to work in a busy, multi-tasked environment.
  • Courteous and professional manner with diplomacy in conflict resolution.
  • Attention to detail in daily operations of the Office of Admission.
  • Ability to make decisions and exercise professional judgment.
  • Ability to analyze statistical data related to enrollment trends.
  • Ability to interact with university faculty, staff, prospective students, and families.
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly with all audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
