    POSITION SUMMARY: Are you passionate about helping students discover their calling in a Christ-centered academic environment? As an Admission Counselor at Bob Jones University, you will play a key role in the recruitment and enrollment process, working to attract, assess, and guide prospective students through one of the most important decisions of their lives. This position calls for a dynamic, personable individual who understands BJU’s programs and culture and can combine relationship-building with strategic communication to connect effectively with diverse student populations.

    What you'll do:

    1. Student Recruitment:
      • Connect with prospective students through digital meetings, school visits, college fairs, campus events, and other channels.
      • Engage prospective students through personalized outreach and follow-up strategies that build trust and move conversations forward.
      • Represent BJU with professionalism and enthusiasm, providing details about programs, admission requirements, and campus life.
    2. Application Processing:
      • Review and evaluate student applications to ensure completeness and accuracy.
      • Support students and parents through every step of the application process with timely communication.
    3. Counseling and Advising:
      • Provide personalized guidance on program selection, admission requirements, and career pathways with prospective students.
      • Use active listening and consultative questioning techniques to uncover student goals and align them with BJU’s programs.
      • Assist students in preparing application materials.
    4. Outreach and Events:
      • Participate in open houses, campus tours showcasing the University's offerings, and other recruitment events.
      • Enjoy travel opportunities to connect with students and schools at recruiting events (approximately 3 weeks per semester).
    5. Academic Program Focus:
      • Develop a deep understanding of BJU’s academic programs.
      • Collaborate with deans and faculty to strengthen outreach efforts.
    6. Marketing Mindset:
      • Champion the BJU brand and communicate its life-changing impact.
      • Advocate persuasively for Christian higher education and BJU.
      • Enthusiastically engage with the colleagues, customers, and constituency of BJU.
      • Provide top-tier customer service.

    Note: This position is approximately 75% at a desk, 15% connecting in campus activities, 10% travel

    • Skill in presenting information in a way that connects with individual needs and motivations.
    • Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn CRM platforms, reporting tools, and digital engagement strategies.
    • Ability to multi-task, manage projects, and prioritize and organize responsibilities.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Passion for BJU’s mission and Christian higher education.

    An applicant must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
