Mayo Clinic in Arizona is currently seeking a highly skilled Administrator to provide administrative leadership for the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (MCCCC), Arizona, as well as the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology in Arizona. This individual will serve as a key administrative partner to physician leadership across both areas, supporting the advancement of strategic priorities, operational excellence, growth, and organizational performance.
In partnership with the Physician Site Director of MCCCC, Arizona, the Administrator is responsible for strategic and operational planning, leadership development, workforce and staff engagement, fiscal stewardship, and monitoring operational and performance outcomes for the Arizona cancer center in alignment with MCCCC and Mayo Clinic's overall strategy. The Administrator will also provide administrative leadership and oversight for the Department of Psychiatry & Psychology in Arizona, partnering closely with departmental physician leadership to advance clinical practice, workforce, financial, access, and strategic priorities.
Across this combined portfolio, the Administrator will foster collaboration among clinical practices, research, education, and shared services; build strong partnerships across Mayo Clinic; and ensure that resources, infrastructure, and operational strategies support high-quality patient care and sustainable growth. The role requires the ability to lead across complex, multidisciplinary environments.
At Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (MCCCC), our mission is bold: to cure cancer. As a leading global authority, we are transforming cancer research and practice with category-of-one data platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and digital technologies, assuring Mayo Clinic discoveries, knowledge, and expertise are accessible to all, within and beyond our walls, at any place or anytime.
Designated as one of the nation's highest-ranked National Cancer Institute (NCI)-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers since 1973, MCCCC is the only NCI Cancer Center with three highly integrated sites: Rochester, Minnesota; Jacksonville, Florida; and Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona, treating more than 150,000 patients with cancer from across the nation annually. MCCCC is particularly distinguished among the nation's cancer centers by our unparalleled opportunities to transform research and clinical practice through extensive collaborations with the Mayo Clinic AI Program and Mayo Clinic Platform (MCP), the world's largest collaborative, distributed, federated healthcare data network with a cloud-based data architecture holding the longitudinal healthcare records of 54 million patients from across the world.
Reflecting MCCCC's integrated, multisite model, this leadership role carries a 50/50 portfolio of responsibility, with approximately half of the role focused on advancing the strategic and operational priorities of the Arizona Cancer Center and half dedicated to enterprise-level responsibilities that promote integration, alignment, and collaboration across MCCCC. The Administrator will play a critical role in connecting Arizona priorities with the broader Cancer Center strategy, advancing shared initiatives, and ensuring opportunities, resources, and best practices are effectively leveraged across sites.
As a high-performance collaborative research ecosystem, MCCCC is driving innovative research in our laboratories, clinics, and communities and translating discoveries into new and novel interventions and clinical trials for the patients we serve. Six Research Programs serve as engines for scientific discovery, translating discoveries into novel diagnostics and therapeutics: Cancer Genomics, Signaling, and Metastasis (CGSM); Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapeutics (CII); Cancer Risk Assessment, Early Detection, Interception (REDI); Cancer Prevention, Control, and Survivorship (CPCS); Novel Therapeutics and Therapeutic Modalities (NTTM); and Advanced Clinical Trials and Translational Sciences (ACTS). By harnessing the power of transdisciplinary and translational research, we are revolutionizing cancer research and pioneering new ways to detect, intercept, and advance cures for patients with cancer everywhere.
Given the breadth of the portfolio, the successful candidate will be an accomplished administrative leader who demonstrates strategic thinking, financial and operational acumen, physician partnership, collaborative leadership, and the ability to navigate and connect complex initiatives across multiple disciplines and organizational structures.
