Position Summary
The Administrative Support Specialist provides essential administrative support to ensure the efficient, timely completion of high-priority tasks within the Billing & Collections Department. The ideal candidate is familiar with a range of billing and collections practices and established departmental procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare, collate, and process daily patient invoices, insurance claims, EOBs, PCRs, and related documentation
Complete and submit daily outgoing mail and manage daily fax submission of insurance claims
Manage and maintain assigned workflows on a daily basis
Research patient accounts via the Montefiore Epic system
Document and file applicable hospital face sheets
Run and submit daily productivity reports and templates at the end of each shift
Complete assigned projects requiring strong attention to detail and timely follow-through
Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management
Promote and foster the mission, vision, and values of Empress Ambulance Services
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
Previous administrative experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented, coachable, and able to take initiative
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to document, analyze, and interpret work and instructions accurately
