Administrative Specialist I - Full Time #084

JOB SUMMARY

Provide administrative support to the Nursing Division, Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer (IBCCP) and Illinois Wise Woman Program (IWP). This position requires knowledge in navigating basic software programs, excellent computer skills, professional phone etiquette and email submission, Team oriented environment.

JOB FUNCTION

Responsible for performing general administrative tasks including;

  • Essential functions of reception coverage, answering phones, photocopying, faxing charts, records and other essential documents.
  • Assist in greeting patients, addressing patient needs, schedule client appointments and program enrollment
  • Computer data entry
  • Maintains patient records
  • Maintains inventory and supplies
  • Collaborates with Healthcare Providers for scheduling and billing issues
  • Participates in Community Outreach events
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

MIMIMUN QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of clerical experience performing general office duties, familiarity with Outlook, Word, Excel a plus; Bilingual preferred (Spanish)

STARTING SALARY

$18.22/hour; Grade 2N

HOURS

37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00-4:30 p.m.

All Health Department staff are required to be up to date on the Covid vaccination as determined by the CDC and IDPH, including all primary series doses and boosters, as a term and condition of employment with the Department. In addition, proof of all vaccines are mandatory for employment with the Health Dept., including the flu vaccine.
