Qualifications

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor''s degree AND experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time increasingly responsible professional staff administrative experience.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub professional, paraprofessional, or professional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in public administration, business administration, or other acceptable field may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years.

OR

Four years of increasingly responsible professional administrative services experience with the State of Tennessee.

Overview

The Director of Administrative Support implements policies and procedures for Community Health Services and serves as a key liaison connecting TDH divisions with regional and local health departments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource for Regional Administrative Support Directors for guidance, policies, rules and regulations, in support of daily administrative operations.
  • Serve as liaison between CHS and various TDH divisions to ensure programmatic guidelines are communicated and operational processes are carried out efficiently.
  • Facilitate efficient and appropriate administrative support services to TDH regional and county health departments.
  • Provide training materials and resources to Regional Administrative Support Directors to oversee and conduct administrative support services within their respective regions at the local level.
  • Serve as manager and resource liaison with the Renal and Hemophilia programs to ensure programmatic guidelines and requirements are properly executed.
