About this Job

The Emergency Services Unit (ESU) is statutorily responsible for investigating hazardous materials and explosives incidents, determining cause, and the enforcement of the Louisiana Hazardous Materials and Explosives Regulations.

We are looking for an Administrative Program Specialist C to join our section.

This is an exceptionally responsible position located in the SOD/ESU of the Office of State Police. The incumbent should be proficient in budget, administration, contracts and grants management or similar fields, payroll and must possess effective oral/written communication skills; strong analytical skills; the ability to work independently; and effective interpersonal skills. ESU is regularly awarded approximately $1.5 million in federal grants annually. Because the duties and responsibilities are so complex and highly fiscal in nature, the incumbent will receive direct supervision from the ESU Commander/Executive Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR

A bachelors degree plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR

An advanced degree plus one year of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Work Schedule: Work hours may range from 7:00 am until 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Location: This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
