Description

Summary:

  • Location: 718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666
  • Work Mode: 100% Onsite
  • Duration: Temporary assignment with opportunity for extension
  • Schedule: Variable schedule with shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary patient-facing representative, greeting and assisting patients in person and by phone.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and route calls appropriately.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and messages in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate patient appointments, referrals, and scheduling requests.
  • Register, pre-certify, and schedule patients accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits utilizing approved tools and resources.
  • Obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient information within electronic systems.
  • Assist patients with financial estimates and communicate anticipated patient responsibility amounts.
  • Manage daily patient schedules and communicate schedule changes as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, physicians, and staff.
  • Notify patients of appointment delays and assist with patient flow.
  • Collect co-payments, deductibles, coinsurance, self-pay balances, and other patient financial responsibilities.
  • Perform daily balancing, reconciliation, and cash-handling procedures.
  • Prepare upcoming schedules and review patient financial responsibility information.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support efficient clinic operations.
  • Complete assigned work within departmental productivity and quality standards.
  • Submit IT support requests related to equipment or system issues as needed.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Support a positive patient experience through professional communication and service excellence.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in patient registration, patient access, medical office, outpatient clinic, physician practice, or hospital registration environment.
  • Experience with patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front-office operations required.
  • Experience collecting co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and other patient financial responsibilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.
  • Experience working within EMR/EHR systems.
  • Fluent Spanish/English bilingual communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting a high-volume healthcare environment preferred.
  • Preferred experience with systems such as Aria, Harmony, WebHis, Rumba, One Source, Availity, and Navinet.
