Virginia State Parks' Business and Revenue Division is accepting applications for an Administrative Operations Support Specialist position.
This position provides on-site administrative support at Main Street Center in Richmond, Virginia. This role will perform background checks utilizing the Virginia State Police, VCIN, under the authority of the Office of Public Safety & Law Enforcement, which is responsible for the Department’s access to this network. The position will be responsible for providing information to the Chief of Public Safety & Law Enforcement, or designee, for review as required by policy.
In this role, you will also support SharePoint administration by coordinating, organizing, and maintaining the Virginia State Parks Intranet. Responsibilities include ongoing management of document libraries, news features, automation repositories, calendars, knowledge resources, approval workflows, related data, and other identified information systems or administrative processes used across Virginia State Parks.
This position requires close collaboration with internal partners such as divisional staff, Information Technology, the Office of Public Safety and Law Enforcement, Human Resources, and various State Parks working groups.

This position is not eligible for teleworking or a hybrid combination of work. The selected candidate is expected to report to Main Street Center for each shift. This position may require limited travel throughout the state.
This is a wage position, which is not eligible for Commonwealth of Virginia benefits (health care, paid leave, etc.) and is limited to working 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30. DCR provides the opportunity for wage employees to participate in tax-deferred compensation programs, supplemental disability insurance, and supplemental retirement accounts made available through the Commonwealth’s provider network at the employee’s expense.
