Bachelor's degree in related field. Two years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs administrative support duties for the Associate Vice President of Development.
Primary Responsibilities
Performs administrative support duties for the Associate Vice President of Development and provides donor relations and administrative support for major gift officers. Processes correspondence and answers requests of a complex nature; referring matters which are highly complex, controversial, or specialized to the appropriate authority level. Determines work priorities, develops schedules, and plans the processing of work. Provides considerable independent judgment in the management of an office. Coordinates calendar and appointment schedule and responsible for maintaining a calendar of all meetings. Provides administrative assistance by assisting the office or department with a large volume of complex tasks. Provides supervision of student staff in the operation of the department. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of assigned personnel. Makes complex office decisions within related area according to policy. Prepares financial, statistical and complex factual information from a variety of sources. Serves as liaison between other university departments. Counsels others regarding University structure, policies, rules and procedures within specialized field. Responsible for the maintenance of extremely accurate records and information for various administrative requests. May be responsible for accounting, budgeting, and purchasing. Interprets policies and explains procedures relating to activities performed in the department. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Must have strong writing and verbal skills that convey accurate, effective, and efficient communication. Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential. Must have the ability to work effectively and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must have the ability to work independently and in team-based environment. Must have the ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Requires detailed knowledge of University infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement. Position requires the capability to work a flexible schedule as needed. Some evening and weekend work required.
