    Administrative Assistant - NC Production Operations

    • Location: Wallace, NC

    Role Summary

    The Administrative Production Assistant provides critical data management, reporting, and clerical support to the North Carolina Production Management Team. This role acts as key contact for the sow, grow/finish, poultry, and veterinary service operations, preparation of various reports, aids in scheduling and coordination of events relative to the production operations to include general clerical duties. You will turn operational data into summaries while maintaining compliance files and vendor orders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Data Management & Reporting: Gather, organize, and summarize production data from specialized platforms like PigKnows, Barn Tools, and Power BI.
    • Veterinary & Compliance Support: Download laboratory diagnostic reports, update Barn 360 health grades, and manage PQA farm audit files and schedules.
    • Operational Coordination: Assist with farm set-up and changes in the E1 and Field to Base systems through form completion and communication with Smithfield.
    • Purchasing & Logistics: Generate and receive Purchase Orders (POs) for farm managers and maintain updated vehicle and contact lists.
    • Performance Tracking: Build comparative performance charts for poultry operations, pull and utilize data from broiler farm closeout reports.
    • Emergency Communications: Assist in broadcasting urgent alerts and mass communications to growers and field staff during critical events.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Advanced Computer Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Power BI.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with remote farm managers, executives, and external partners.
    • Agricultural technology proficiency: Experience or strong aptitude to learn specialized agricultural software (e.g., PigKnows, Barn Tools, Barn 360, Rotem Net Web).
    • Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to manage non-compliance logs, seasonal checklists, and laboratory data accurately.
