Job Summary
The Expeditor Imports is responsible for supporting the supply chain team by tracking and expediting imported purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery. This role works closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to maintain shipment visibility, resolve delays, and mitigate supply chain risks from origin through final delivery.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple shipments while maintaining strong follow-up and communication with all parties involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Track international purchase orders from supplier shipment through final delivery.
- Monitor key transit milestones, including:
- Factory ship dates
- Port departures
- Customs clearance
- Domestic delivery
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to confirm shipment status and resolve issues.
- Identify delayed or at-risk shipments and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Update shipment dates, status information, and notes within ERP and tracking systems.
- Review shipping documents, including:
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Bills of lading
- Support import compliance by ensuring all required documentation is received and processed.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Buyers, Inventory, Logistics, and Accounts Payable.
- Maintain organized shipment records and provide timely status updates.
Required Qualifications
- 1 3 years of experience in:
- Logistics
- Supply chain
- Import operations
- Expediting
- Related internships or temporary assignments
- Basic understanding of international shipping and import processes.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with imported products (ocean freight and/or air freight).
- Familiarity with:
- Incoterms
- Customs clearance processes
- Freight documentation
- Experience using ERP systems or supply chain tracking tools.
- Previous interaction with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
Work Environment
